Growth Groups
Taking next steps together
Our Growth Groups at Trinity Baptist Church include small groups of people
meeting on a regular basis to build community and growing in maturity in
their relationship with God and with others. We offer different types of
groups tailored to meet you where you are in your walk with God, and to
provide an environment for fostering your growth.
Growth Groups often meet in homes and include from seven to seventeen
people. A trained and equipped Growth Group leader acts as a shepherd for
each group, and guides the meeting and prays for you during the week. We
use a variety of studies in the Growth Groups emphasizing everything from
the basics of Christianity to fostering and experiencing intimacy with God.
Each Growth Group meeting includes a number of ingredients that are selected
to help you connect with others and help you grow in your knowledge,
experience and practice of following Jesus. In a meeting you might
experience an initial light hearted exchange (called an "Ice Breaker") to
build your relationship with other members of your group. There also might
be a time of catching up and sharing of events in each other's lives after a
busy week. And, there might be a time of sharing in praise to God by
sharing "God-Sightings" where we take time to share how we have recently
seen God working. Another important ingredient is our Bible discussion and
study time. During this time, members are often encouraged to wrestle with
the reality of God's Word and interact with each other. Often, there is
also a time where we are encouraged to share and encourage each other in our
own next steps by sharing in our progress and struggles. Another important
ingredient is our time of sharing prayer requests and praying together as
each person is led by the Holy Spirit.
For a number of years, many people at Trinity Baptist Church have
experienced and grown by actively participating in Growth Groups. For many,
the experience has enhanced their practice of walking with God. For some,
the Growth Group has become an extended local family where lifelong
friendships are forged and fostered. If you want to grow, then signing up
